Swapfrag update
Dec. 4th, 2008 08:31 pmWhen we last left Swapfrag, these were the sleeping arrangements:
Me & Bunn & dogs: Master bedroom
Chris & Wryelle & Polly: Guest bedroom
Jane_S & Skordh * El & Fr_L: Games room
J & J (whose LJ aliases I cannot remember, but who are Jane_S's brother and sister-in-law): Dressing room
Pellinor & LadyofAstolat: Library
Person_who_would_be_Bethran_if_he_had_a_LiveJournal_account: Study
Anyone else was going to have to camp in the garden (we can provide tents for one and two people) on a slope or stay in a B&B. My parents, who live about 20 minutes' drive away, have now offered up their spare room, so anyone else who wants to come and who doesn't fancy camping or a B&B could stay there.
More thoughts:
Bunn and I thought that as well as the boardgaming, Guitar Hero World Tour, video watching and moorland dog-walking, we'd prepare some more bespoke entertainments. We thought that maybe we would try to devise some games of our own. For those of you who have experienced one or two phlegmatic(tm) games before, any games we play at Swapfrag will be closer in complexity to 'Trivtionary' than 'Succession!'.
We've also discussed running a treasure hunt on one of the days. Basically I'll split you into teams with one team per car. (I don't actually know how many people are coming by car, but as well as whoever brings a car, we'll have Bunn's Saab for 5 people and my Dad's Jazz for four.) Each team will have a series of clues, pieces of information to collect, things to take a photograph of and items to collect and you'll have to do this over a relatively small area of countryside centred on Chilsworthy. Perhaps a triangle of Liskeard - Plymouth - western dartmoor.
I'd like to know if people like the treasure hunt idea or hate it. Is it, for example, something that is toddler friendly? Or baby friendly? Or parent friendly? Does anyone get car-sick driving around country lanes?
One more thing - feel free to bring other people's items along to swap if you like. Maybe we'll publish a list of stuff on LiveJournal so that friends who aren't there can make a bid.

Date: 2008-12-04 10:01 pm (UTC)We are coming by car & that sleeping arrangement sounds fine.
I think a treasure hunt would be fun, if not too wide ranging, and so long as we don't end up staying out all night because we have missed a vital clue. I think it would be toddler but not baby friendly (but I doubt the baby would mind!!)
