I watched the end of one these tonight. You know the sort of thing - get a bunch of B- and C-listers to reminisce on telly. A cheap way for Channel 4 or 5 (or in this case Sky One) to fill an evening's prgramming. Tonight's was something along the line of 'Best TV endings' or something.

I figured it would be interesting enough, and was interested to see what would be second - could it perhaps be Blake's 7? Obviously MASH would be first by a mile.

But no! Blake's 7 wasn't in the top 21 (which is where I came in), meaning that it came behind Richard and Judy, for f**k's sake. MASH was sixth. SIXTH!

Life on Mars won. Don't get me wrong, I loved Life on Mars, but the ending was fairly predictable, and most of the best characters came back for another series anyway.

Did Blackadder Goes Forth get anywhere?

From memory, it was certainly in the top ten. I think it was beaten by Richard Curtis's rather less esteemed other sitcom though - that one with the fat woman vicar. The ending of that, in which she marries Guy of Gisburne and then flies away (???) inexplicably came very high up.
