Fast components need to be put into a nice case. Cases have got better in the time I've been building PCs. I'm also fussier about cases now. Glaurung used to live in an enormous case that was all sharp edges and fiddly angles. Scatha's case is an Antec P180 - and I would recommend this range to almost anyone - it's well-ventilated, well-made and quiet. the only problem is that because of its compartmented innards, it doesn't cope well with extra long graphics cards (bought two of those) or extra long power supply units (coming in part 8).
So I fished around for an alternative and came up with the Coolermaster Cosmos S Sport. Bit flashy, expensive without being exorbitant and will fit the components I've chosen. And hopefully pretty quiet too.
