The Death Star exists, and it's orbiting Saturn.

That's a genuine NASA image, taken by the Cassini probe, of Mimas, one of Saturn's lesser known moons.

Weird, huh?

That's a great picture! Rather scary though...

My eyesight must be going. I first read that as, "rather sexy;" and thought, "that is one seriously disturbed person."

Excellent photo. You may notice that I deleted my first comment, 'cos in my haste to make the obvious remark, I didn't notice it was the title of your post!

Oh nice. I had seen photos of it before, but none that were nearly this good.

Retreat? I think you overestimate their chances!

Excellent! I watched the Sky at Night last week and it was all about Saturn, though Sir Patrick failed to draw our attention to this feature! Did anyone go out to watch the total lunar eclipse? We were down at my mum's and it was a very clear night. I would imagine philmoplegm got a great view if the sky was clear - when I've been down to visit, I've been able to see the Milky Way quite distinctly as there is so little light pollution.

Regrettably, we had light cloud cover. We saw shapes, but we didn't see the red glow of totality.
