Date: 2012-03-21 03:39 pm (UTC)Layla was written by Eric Clapton about George Harrison's wife Patti Boyd (with whom Eric was having an affair). Patti's little sister Jenny was married to Mick Fleetwood.
So the correct answer is 'brother-in-law'.
Jenny herself had an affair with Fleetwood Mac's lead guitarist Bob Weston which resulted in Fleetwood sacking him from the band and in turn to Lindsey Buckingham replacing him. Buckingham insisted on bringing Stevie Nicks with him leading eventually to the situation you describe.

She was then married to keyboard player / songwriter Eddy Quintela for something like 20 years, although they have since divorced.
