Date: 2012-01-20 02:56 pm (UTC)I happen to be a libertarian who comes down on the mother's side in that conflict, but opposition to elective abortions that aren't medically necessary isn't fundamentally incompatible with libertarianism.
In the broader view, a lot of Paul's problems come down to his tragically misplaced faith in the paleolibertarian marketing strategy, which can easily alienate the people most likely to vote for him. If he'd rebrand himself as a real libertarian, he might be able to make a real run of this thing.
