Can't comment on your other post but while the police are public sector they're not allowed a union, only a union-like Federation and so technically can't strike. Also forces like West Mids view the Met as bunch of cowards and thieves based on their experiences working alongside them during miners strike ... And let's face it coppers in the Met do have form for beating people up.

And I believe there has been noises in the media about the BBC being taken to task for not doing as Mr Cameron wants ...

LOL although I was commenting as much for information as to take issue with the post ;-). I neglected to include that the Police are often seen as very conservative and presumably many will vote Tory, certainly that was the way many of them came across to me at work (there were also an awful lot of Daily Fail readers in the building which might also be seen as saying something about their politics).
