Well, today I bought a new car.

Picture and details behind the cut.






It's a Porsche 911 996 Carrera 2 in deep purple with grey leather interior and GT3-style aerokit. Test drove it today. It's slightly higher mileage than I was looking for, but a long way below my budget. Pick it up on Wednesday.

It's a limited edition colour called "viola" apparently.

You'd be amazed how many 911s are silver with black interior. I know silver is the official racing colour for German cars, but that's a very dull colour combination.

Having re-read the thread, my actual words were - "someone might say...." I didn't necessarily mean I wold say it (though I might be thinking it!)

Purple was definitely getting a thumbs up in the original posts, but the Porsches weren't high on your list of lookers. So have you changed or were your aesthetic opinions overruled by your spreadsheet?
