The young unemployment thing looks like it has the potential to become a scary vicious circle/death spiral.
Don't emply young folks 'cos they have no job skills... so they learn no job skills... so they stay unskilled young folks... who become unskilled mature folks... who become unskilled middle aged folks... and so on.
Hopefully someone will notice before our whole demographic is unemployed due to lack of on the job skills!
