How much notice does the polite colleague give you before cancelling a meeting?

Is it...
a) At least a week, to allow you time to rearrange your schedule at the busiest time of your work year?
b) At least 24 hours, to allow you to cancel your hotel reservation, thus saving the firm £160?
c) Just before you set off?

Or d) After you've checked into your hotel?
